Date: Tuesday 28th February
Time: 9:30 - 4pm
Running pet and companion dog training classes isn't only about your experience and skills with dogs!
This day will cover the practicalities of being an instructor;
- safe class sizes
- space management
- setting and managing owner expectations
- how to educate owners about learning theory, equipment, and care of their dogs effectively and without confrontation
- catering for dogs with additional physical and/or mental requirements, and for owners with mobility or learning difficulties.
We will also talk about pre-class admin and records, being part of a broader network of canine professionals, and recognising the limitations of your class and of your expertise as a trainer.
This course will be held at our venue in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield. Tea & coffee will be provided, but the course is not catered and attendees will need to organise their own lunch.
